The Predictive Index® Behavioral Assessment™
The PI Behavioral Assessment (BA) and the resulting reports are powerful tools to support the further development and expansion of your organization in the areas of:
- Improving communication and collaboration
- Effectively building teams
- Recruitment & selection: attracting and training people who fit best
- Increasing engagement and employee experience
PI BA™ provides insight into intrinsic motivational drivers, such as decision-making, problem solving, providing trust, dealing with change, risk appetite, communication style, being proactive versus reactive, listening versus asking questions, and the perception of rules. These insights help you understand individual preferences and behaviors, essential for effective management and team dynamics.
But when is it best to apply which data from the behavioral report?
- Most notable behavior: for creating self-awareness, preparing for meetings, identifying development opportunities.
- Leadership style: prepare for conversations with direct reports, reduce unhealthy conflicts, provide constructive feedback
- Management strategy: increasing involvement, developing a coaching process
Self vs. Self-Concept
The Self measures our natural behavior, who we are. The Self-Concept measures one's own perception of the behavior that could be expected in the workplace. It reflects how you adjust your behavior based on this, in other words, it measures a behavioral adjustment.
A major difference between Self and Self-Concept is important to investigate further, because this may be a sign that someone is spending more or less energy on adjusting natural preferred behavior. This has an influence on motivation and involvement (negatively). Too much adjustment to natural preferred behavior can ultimately negatively affect engagement, productivity and retention.
While the Self pattern is stable, the Self-concept pattern can change over time in response to stimuli such as a new manager, new responsibilities, or organizational changes. Use the Self Concept for self-awareness development, coaching and to improve retention and performance.
